Nestled among the rolling hills and sparkling lakes of Central Minnesota is Avon, Minnesota, an enterprising, progressive community.

Avon sprung up with the arrival of the railroad in 1863 and was incorporated in 1900. People seeking a simpler life in a beautiful location of timerland and lakes discovered Avon. Since 1980, the population of our community has increased nearly 20 percent. Over half of the current residents are newcomers to the area, choosing Avon over other locations.

Initially, the eight lakes and the wooded hills surrounding the community draw new residents to our city. Looking further, however, they discover Avon's ideal location in relationship to St. Cloud, Minnesota, just 15 minutes to the east, and to what Money magazine called one of the most "livable" urban centers in the country­Minneapolis and St. Paul, just 90 minutes to the southeast. Here, residents and businesses enjoy easy access to all the amenities of big city living--cultural and art activites, major league sports, shopping--without all of the hassles. Indeed, Avon is cosmopolitan living in the country!
